Government sponsored lessons for 2016 are: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Steel Pan.


Private lessons are available for Singing, Drums, Guitar, and Piano/ Keyboard.


Parents and students who wish to enrol for music lessons in 2016 can either collect a form from the student office or click on the link to fill out a digital enrolment form.

Important Notes:

  • Due to the limitations on Government funding priority will be given to those Senior Students doing NCEA Music as a subject, Junior Students and to those who are committed members of the school based Jazz Band and Concert Band.
  •  There is a $30.00 payment for all students learning at school (Private and Government funded) to cover the costs of the music and general wear of instruments during the year.
  • Please do not pay any fees until lessons have been confirmed.
  • Some Brass, String and Woodwind instruments are available through the school at the cost of $70.00 for the year. Others can be hired from outside organisations such as Bay City Music or KKB or Mira.


Guitar/ Bass Guitar and Drum students should have access to an instrument outside of school with which to practice.
